What MarketGuard does

MarketGuard monitors your Shopify Markets configuration and reports when a product’s availability, price or currency in a Market differs from what you told it to expect. It is a monitoring tool: it reports, and you decide what to change.

Shopify access

Monitoring is read-only. Currency Guard includes a separate confirmed action that can mark the selected product’s inventory items non-shippable and install an app checkout rule requiring its configured currency and an exclusive cart. Its storefront block localizes the buyer into a Market the merchant selected. When you confirm it, that action can also set a fixed price for the selected product in the chosen Market’s price list. MarketGuard does not otherwise modify prices, and never modifies catalogues, publications, translations or merchant theme code.

What MarketGuard does not guarantee

MarketGuard reports what it was able to verify. When Shopify does not return complete evidence, a check is recorded as unverified rather than treated as healthy, and unverified checks are never counted as ready.

Verification time varies with catalog size, number of Markets and Shopify API availability. MarketGuard does not promise a completion time, and higher plans receive more frequent and higher-priority monitoring rather than a guaranteed duration.

MarketGuard depends on the Shopify Admin API. When Shopify is unavailable or rate-limits requests, verification is delayed and MarketGuard reports that rather than guessing.

Plans and billing

Paid plans are billed through Shopify. Plan limits and features are shown on the Plans page inside the app. If MarketGuard cannot confirm your subscription with Shopify, it does not assume a paid plan.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the Market policies and thresholds you configure, for the recipients you add, and for any changes you make in Shopify in response to a finding.

Ending use

You can uninstall MarketGuard from your Shopify admin at any time. Uninstalling triggers the operational cleanup described on the privacy page, including the distinction between MarketGuard’s database and app-owned data stored by Shopify.
