What does MarketGuard monitor?

MarketGuard checks whether selected products are available in the Shopify Markets you expect, compares contextual prices and currencies, and records meaningful changes and findings.

Does MarketGuard change my store?

Ordinary monitoring is read-only. Currency Guard makes changes only after you review and confirm its setup for a selected product.

What can Currency Guard change?

For the selected product, it can set the chosen Market’s fixed variant prices, mark its inventory items non-shippable, and install or update MarketGuard’s checkout validation. That validation requires the chosen currency and prevents mixed-product checkout for the protected product.

Why does a result say “Couldn’t verify”?

Shopify did not return enough evidence to decide safely. MarketGuard never counts an incomplete or failed check as Ready; a later verification retries it.

What does “Not monitored” mean?

The product is outside your selected monitoring scope or current plan limit. It has not been verified and is not presented as healthy.

How do scheduled checks work?

Free supports merchant-started verification. Eligible paid plans add scheduled monitoring; the Plans page shows the current catalogue, Market, cadence and notification entitlements.

How are alerts sent?

Connect a supported email, SMS or WhatsApp provider, save a recipient, enable an alert type, and test the connection. MarketGuard sends only through channels and recipients you configure.

What happens after uninstall?

MarketGuard deletes its sessions and shop-scoped operational records when Shopify sends the uninstall and required privacy webhooks. Shopify controls the lifecycle of app-owned data held on Shopify.
